(Killeen, Texas, Jan.9, 2020) – Today, Texas Home Health Hospice (THHH), an AccentCare, Inc. company, celebrated the grand opening of its newest location, in Killeen, Texas. The ribbon cutting ceremony featured special guest, Mayor Jose Segarra, alongside Texas Home Health Hospice leadership and Killeen civic leaders.
“Today is not only a milestone in the 50-year history of Texas Home Health, as we join the Killeen community, but also for the hospice industry as a whole,” said Steve Rodgers, AccentCare CEO. “This office is an all-new design and concept that moves away from a traditional hospice office space, and launches a more holistic means of providing exceptional hospice care for our patients and their families.”
While most hospice care is provided in the patient’s home, the new THHH office was purposefully built to be a welcoming environment for patients’ families and a gathering place for their dedicated care professionals. This space also serves as a place where THHH can invite the community for various support group meetings and training events.
The office space is double the size of traditional hospice offices and is built for growth. It boasts a meeting room equipped with state-of-the-art video conferencing capabilities and business lounge seating for clinicians and staff to plug in and comfortably work in between patient visits.
“I couldn’t be more proud to have our first office of this new concept be in Killeen, a community I am personally deeply connected to… I was stationed at Fort Hood three times during my career with the U.S. Army, and it’s humbling to receive such a warm welcome from the Killeen community,” said Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Chris Mitchell, AccentCare Vice President and General Manager, Hospice. “We have already been out in the community, recruiting veterans, and the majority of our care team members are veterans. I now look forward to opening our doors to host meetings and events that will further enrich the lives of the incredible folks in this great community.”
Texas Home Health Hospice holds several distinctions and industry accreditations, including the We Honor Veterans distinction for offering veteran outreach programs and special services specifically tailored to the needs of their veteran patients. While hospice care ensures all patients receive comfort and dignity at the end of life, for veterans that sometimes means being able to share memories of their military service with a fellow veteran, and THHH provides that gift to veteran patients through their Vet-to-Vet volunteer program.
