AccentCare Uses Synzi Telehealth App to Ease Patient Burden Facing Hospitals Amid COVID-19
Innovative Synzi Telehealth App Helps AccentCare Expand and Extend Impact
St. Petersburg, FL, — AccentCare, a national leader in post-acute healthcare services, announced improved outcomes from using Synzi’s telehealth app and virtual care platform to provide care while protecting patients, staff, and PPE across its key regions.
Providing a highly diversified range of post-acute home healthcare services, AccentCare is committed to delivering exceptional care with advanced technologies and innovative programs. Having partnered with Synzi since March of 2019, AccentCare has expanded the use of Synzi’s virtual care platform and extended its reach throughout hospitals, health systems, physician practices, and patient communities in sixteen states.
AccentCare has been using Synzi’s HIPAA-compliant video functionality to conduct virtual visits with COVID-19 patients who have been discharged from partner hospitals. As in-person visits are increasingly restricted and PPE supplies are limited, AccentCare’s front line caregivers have been able to help hospitals discharge COVID-19 patients earlier and reduce the risk of rehospitalization for all patients by leveraging telehealth.
In Mississippi and New York, the total number of staff members who used Synzi at the beginning of March was approximately 440, in June, it increased to more than 1,100 users. As for patients using the app, there was an even larger spike, hovering around 55 users in March and, now, reaching more than 1,600 users. A total of 2,500 virtual calls have been made to patients since February. It’s a number that could grow as more people chose in-home health.
“We are leveraging Synzi’s innovative technology to reduce the burden on our nation’s hospitals and open up available beds for the more critical patients,” said Stephan Rodgers, Chief Executive Officer of AccentCare. “With Synzi, we enable our front line caregivers to safely answer the call to care of a COVID patient, minimize the risk of infection and transmission, and deliver impactful care virtually in the home.”
Synzi’s award-winning communication platform leverages everyday devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops to help post-acute care organizations connect with patients while protecting their patients, staff, and PPE. “AccentCare has been able to elevate its patient support in an unprecedented time by using Synzi’s telehealth app to care for patients whose symptoms are manageable at home,” said Lee Horner, CEO of Synzi. “With Synzi, AccentCare honors their commitment to caring for their patients, families, front line caregivers, health care partners, and surrounding communities.”
Synzi offers a patient program management framework that combines video, email and secure messaging communication modalities for healthcare organizations to address specific patient needs easily, efficiently, and seamlessly. Synzi uses a sophisticated platform and configurable framework which automates and optimizes workflows across multiple modalities. This creates more valuable connections and more effective care, while bringing convenience and peace of mind to patients. The company helps enable better performance for healthcare organizations, better access for patients, and better outcomes for all. To learn more about Synzi, visit www.synzi.com.
