Team:
Last week, AccentCare made the decision to restrict business travel to essential travel only with prior approval of executive leadership. Thank you for your support as we swiftly institute this necessary change.
To protect our patients, our communities, and each other, AccentCare is instituting a new mandatory policy to safely manage our traveling employees as they return-to-work from regions affected by coronavirus, as well as, to advise of the protocols around COVID-19 quarantine and return to work requirements.
This policy, which is attached to this message, addresses travel to regions that the CDC has determined as high risk for COVID-19 exposure. The CDC has classified high-risk zones into three levels: levels 1, 2, and 3. The CDC’s definitions of each zone and the countries impacted as of today is as follows:
CDC Levels CDC Stat Impacted Regions (3/12/20)
CDC Levels | CDC Stat | Impacted Regions (3/12/20) |
Level 3 Regions | Widespread sustained (ongoing) transmission and restrictions on entry to the United States: Avoid All Non-Essential Travel | China, Italy, Iran, , and most of Europe (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City |
Level 2 Regions | Widespread sustained (ongoing) transmission: Practice Enhanced Precautions |
All other international destinations |
Level 1 Regions | Sustained (ongoing) community transmission: Practice Usual Precautions |
|
If you travel, whether for business or personal reasons, to a zone identified by the CDC as either Level 1,2 or 3, please contact your manager before you return to work. Secondly, please acquaint yourself with the policy and the COVID-19 Travel/Symptom Return To Work Assessment, which is also attached to this message. Carefully follow the steps that correspond with the region you have visited.
Of particular note, airport layovers are considered to be a travel occurrence to a region, even if your only time spent in the region is within the airport. Also, the CDC has listed cruise line travel in the precautions in the last update.
The CDC identified regions will change, so it is advised that you consult the CDC’s website (link) prior to any travel to ensure you are within policy.
