About the Merger

AccentCare is focused on expanding our impact and delivering strong quality to our patients. Merging with Seasons will give us broader representation across the country, and we will be able to expand our offerings in new markets, connecting the care continuum for our partners and for more patients.

Together, the combined organization will operate over 225 sites of care across 26 states, and employ nearly 30,000 qualified professionals. Once combined, AccentCare and Seasons will work with more than 60 health systems, physician practices and joint venture partners to provide care to more than 175,000 patients and their families each year.

Our vision is to simplify the inherent complexity the comes with navigating multiple companies across the continuum of care. As a combined organization, we will help patients and families, and our health system and physician partners, access our joint expertise and high-quality, dignified care.

About Seasons Palliative Care

Seasons Hospice is a community-based organization with an ongoing mission to find creative solutions that add quality to end-of-life care. The caregivers at Seasons Hospice hold steadfast to the patient/family focus of hospice care. The Seasons family consists of Seasons Healthcare Management, Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, Seasons Hospice Foundation, and Seasons Medical Group. Founded in 1997, Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care is one of the largest hospice providers in the nation.

Timeline/Process

AccentCare and Seasons are working to combine by the end of 2020. Nothing will change for our patients, families, and partners as we come together.

Our nearly 75 years of combined experience has taught us that every patient interaction is different – and that the only way to provide outstanding care is to do so with the best interest of the patient in mind at all times to ensure personalized care. The exceptional quality metrics of each organization validate this approach and quality care starts with engaged caregivers with an inspired call-to-purpose, supported by dedicated administrative teams and staff.

Our leadership teams are working diligently to develop a thoughtful plan that brings the best from each organization and continues our mutual focus on quality and exceptional care.

For now, our health system and physician partners will continue to work with their respective AccentCare and Seasons Hospice representatives as they always have to refer patients and transition care from their practice to ours.

FAQs

Will care for patients change?

Will my caregiver change?

No. We know the relationships between patients and caregivers is special. Nothing will change in how, or with whom, you receive care from our dedicated team.

 

Will my insurance still be accepted?

Yes. For now, nothing changes with our relationships and contracts with payors. If the plan you signed up for as part of 2021 Open Enrollment includes AccentCare, it will still be accepted.

 

How did this agreement come together? 

Over the years, Seasons Hospice has been approached by a number of organizations that have been impressed with their performance, but until now, none were the right fit. With AccentCare, they have found a partner that shares their vision for skilled home-based care and that will allow Seasons to expand their hospice care to new communities.

 

When will the deal be finalized? What is happening between now and then?  

We anticipate the deal will be finalized before the end of 2020.  As we work toward the deal close, our leadership teams are working diligently, with the help of outside experts, to develop a thoughtful integration plan.

The transaction includes all of Seasons’ business lines, including their Gareda home care business and the HRS skilled home health business
